An Attitude of Gratitude

You might be wondering how does “An Attitude of Gratitude” connect with networking.

I recently had the pleasure of attending an Awards Luncheon. The invitation listed 11:00 am as the start time. I arrived on time and easily found a parking space. Score!

At check in, I was told doors open at 11:30 am.

I had two choices.

I could choose “Grrrhh, and be a Grouchy Grinch. I can’t believe they said the event starts at 11 when it realty starts at 11:30. Why are they wasting my time? I can’t believe they asked me to arrive early!!! Arrgghhh!!!”

Or, I could choose “An Attitude of Gratitude.”

I chose An Attitude of Gratitude.

In that 30 minutes,
• I connected with a handful of women I hadn’t seen in a long time.
• I had several meaningful conversations including one with a friend who met Grouchy Grinch. Thank you for the inspiration for this article.
• I received an in person reply to an email and commitment to work together.
• I had my photo taken with the award recipient.
• I made new connections.

That 30 minutes was an opportunity, an opportunity for me to connect to others with confidence, and time well spent.

Networking opportunities are everywhere.

Carpe Diem. Seize the Opportunity!

Do you find networking challenging, hard, a waste of time?  Do you want to Connect with Confidence and easily be able to seize the opportunity?  Let’s talk.  Let’s have a conversation to see if our Connecting with Confidence Program is a good fit for you.
